Merri Daley Fine Art

Artist Info

A picture of Merri.

Graduated 1976, BS in Art Education Area Major from Ball State University, Muncie, IN. Taught art in the public schools for several years in Indiana and Colorado. Have taken oil painting lessons beginning when I was 12 years old. As an adult, I studied under Jill Carver, Lorenzo Chavez and Michelle Chrisman among others. I've attended several national conventions for plein air painters. I'm an active member of the American Impressionist Society, the Plein Air Artists of Colorado, Florence Arts Council and Fremont Center for the Arts.

I was raised on our family farm in NE Indiana that was surrounded by state hunting land. My sister and I would ride our horses for hours, almost daily, exploring the woods around us. It was always an adventure. I carried that desire to explore into my adulthood, I strive to bring that sense of discovery into my paintings.

My method of painting is to apply oil paints in a thick and swift application to keep the painting moving, swift and alive. I look to incorporate design elements to make for a strong painting.

Art is my journey and passion. Merri Daley
